OUR ANNUAL MULTICULTURAL AFTERNOON

The focus was on alternative medicine as 130 people listened to experts from
different cultures speak, at Beth Weizmann Community Centre, about alternative
medicine.
Guest speakers included Brigit Ganster (Austria), Dr Marina Christov
(Macedonia), Valentina Boukhal (Russia), Genya Fleischer (Israel) and
Dr Sunita Thakkar (India).

RECORD GRAND TOTAL RAISED! Sunday, 1st June 2008
The crowning of the Kidz For WIZO 2008 winner saw 16 amazing candidates representing
each of the WIZO groups. WIZO Eilat's winning candidates live in Israel so that
they were represented by their very proud great-grandfather, Abrasha Feigin, who was given
the honour of being crowned amidst a room full of families, friends and supporters.

MOTHER'S DAY BRUNCH

More than 300 people attended this annual event held at
Lincoln of Toorak and heard guest speakers Suzy Zail, Chana Serebryansky,
Lahra Carey, Helen Carp and Keren Ludski.

At WIZO Victoria's Mother’s Day Brunch, Rae Mandel (right) was presented
with a Major Donor brooch by WIZO Victoria State President, Paulette
Cherny.
The presentation was in recognition of Rae and Tom Mandel's generosity
as major contributors towards the New Dormitories project at Ahuzat
Yeladim in Israel.

Over 60 guests, young and old, gathered on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the home of
Judy and Alex Levron to surprise our own Gertie Rothschild on her 85th birthday.
In the Chinese calendar, it is the "Year of the Rat", but for WIZO it's the "Year of the Pet"
and, of course in lieu of gifts, Gertie asked for donations to support WIZO's Pet Therapy
Program.
The donations were extremly generous and Paulette Cherny, WIZO Victoria President,
presented Gertie with the first WIZO Pet Therapy Certificate.
Our sincere, heartfelt thanks go to Gertie's family and friends who worked so hard and
celebrated her birthday in style. As for Gertie, all at WIZO wish her Mazal Tov and a long
and healthy life.
