JEAN KATZEN.
A former senior
manager in South African TV and radio,
Jean also worked in the general management
of a national advertising company in New Zealand.
She is married to Tim and has two children, Matthew (13) and Jessica (11).
Recently arrived from Auckland, Jean
comes to us with a wealth of experience and expertise
and will play a key role in the future growth and development of
WIZO Victoria.

Guest Speaker at this year's Annual General Meeting was Adina Bankier-Karp (left),
who captured the audience with her insightful talk on the “Spirit of Women”.
Ella Holcdorf (right), granddaughter of devoted WIZO Victoria member Rena Rabin,
accompanied by Jonathan Skovron, performed a number of beautiful Hebrew songs.
The Rebecca Sieff Award was presented to the family of the late Irene Israel,
with an emotional tribute to Irene being read by Paulette Cherny.
The Ann Zablud Community Award was presented to Emily Chrapot, while
Marlis Cohen Youth Award went to Jesse Sharp. Both these young people
were recognised for their outstanding work in the Jewish community.

Buba Fejga Konefka celebrated her 97th birthday and asked family and friends for
donations to WIZO in lieu of birthday gifts.
How wonderful it is for Fejga to still be so actively involving herself in WIZO!

MULTICULTURAL AFTERNOON

Organised by Ann Zablud OAM and held at Beth Weizmann Community
Centre, our annual Multicultural Afternoon was attended by over 150 people.
Introduced by Jane Rapke, the six participants held the audience
captive by relating experiences of their backgrounds and their, sometimes
difficult, journey into Australian society.
CROWNING CARNIVAL Sunday, 14th June 2009
After six months of fundraising, the "KIDZ 4 WIZO" results were announced at the Crowning Carnival
held at the Bentleigh McKinnon Community Centre to thank everyone for their hard work.
Fun was had by all with a jumping castle, pony rides, hamsa painting, body art and beadmaking
all on offer.
Congratulations to Raphael Moss, WIZO Nirim (Winner), Aimee Greenstein, WIZO Tova (Runner-Up) and Juliana Lustig, WIZO Sharon (3rd-place).
