WIZO NSW Members Attend World WIZO EGM
13th-17th January 2008
Nineteen WIZO NEW representatives from WIZO NSW have just returned from the
World WIZO's Enlarged General Meeting (EGM), held every 4 years in Israel and which,
this year, brought together more than 1,000 representatives from 35 countries.
A week prior to the conference, the Australian Delegation had a special 4-day
tour that incorporated visits to the various WIZO Projects of which are sponsored
directly by Australia.
WIZO NSW Acting President, Esther Wakerman, said that it was inspiring to be
in Israel with a thousand like-minded women, knowing that what we do has such an
impact on Israeli society.
Rony Bognar, Past Federal President of WIZO Australia,
remarked on the amazing energy and passion that these women
who came to the conference possess.
During the EGM, World WIZO honoured Rony with Life Membership in
recognition of her service to WIZO and the people of Israel.
