VISIT AUSTRALIAN-SPONSORED PROJECTS
WIZO Australia Federal President, Jo Gostin, accompanied by Gilla Liberman
and Marlis Cohen took the opportunity to visit Australian-sponsored projects,
prior to the recent WIZO Meeting of Representatives held in israel.
Jo tells of the wonderful results of the hard of our WIZO Australia members.
BRITISH AMBASSADOR TO ISRAEL
VISITS WIZO AHUZAT YELADIM
World WIZO Executive Chairperson, Tova Ben-Dov, recently had the pleasure of hosting
Mr.Tom Philips, British Ambassador to Israel, at WIZO Australia-sponsored Ahuzat Yeladim,
in the presence of Yossi Saragossi, the youth Village's Director-General, and other
dignitaries.
Tova describes what was, at times, quite a moving event.
The WIZO Ahuzat Yeladim School, the flagship project in Israel sponsored by WIZO Australia,
is a specialised residential therapeutic school for children who suffer from behavioural
or emotional problems.
Most of the children come from highly dysfunctional families and have been removed from
their homes by a court order, others were on the verge of engaging in criminal activity.
At present, there are four children to a room, with one communal bathroom per floor.
The renovation will see three children share a bedroom, with each room having its own
bathroom. A relaxation area will also be incorporated allowing the children to have some
space outside of their bedroom.

WIZO Pet Therapy Program

This innovative and exciting program gives the children in WIZO's care
the chance for a happy, healthy and normal life.
The demand for this program far outweighs the current capacity. Funding is
ongoing for every school year. It needs YOUR support!
